How to fix Office 365 Something Went Wrong Installation Error

The Office setup 365 is one of the latest versions of the Office Productivity Suites developed by Microsoft for its users of different platform like Android, Mac, Windows and iOS. Sometimes the users may face some common errors or issues while installing the Office 365 Setup to their device. And one such common installation errors of the Office 365 is “Sorry, Something Went Wrong”. Thus, in the below information, we have came across with some resolving methods to relief the Office users from this installation error.
The error mostly occurs on the device due to the following reasons listed below:
The Office Setup installation process may be blocked by the firewall feature of the installed antivirus software installed on the device.
The device has been installed with the previous version of the Office Setup or the Office productivity suite. Thus, it has been recommended to uninstall the previous version of the Office before installing the Office 365 Setup on the device.
The loss of the internet connection during the Office Installation process.
As the error occurs on the device, an error message box or an alert box showing the error message is displayed on the screen. Some of the error messages are shown below:
“Sorry, something went wrong.
An unexpected error has occurred.”
“Something went wrong.”
Sorry, we weren’t able to download the Office installation.
“Something went wrong
Sorry, we ran into a problem.”
Solutions:
Method 1: Check the Internet Connection:
Before initiating the Office 365 Setup to the device, always make sure that the device has a proper internet connection. The wired internet connection is more preferred than the wireless connection as the wireless connection limits the speed of the internet connectivity.
Method 2: Uninstall the Previous Installed Office Setup:
For uninstalling the previous versions of the Office setup installed on the device, follow the stepwise procedure detailed below:
Firstly, launch the start menu either by clicking the start menu on the taskbar or by pressing the “Windows” key (i.e. the four squares key) on the keyboard.
Now, choose the “Control Panel” option from the start menu.
And then, select the “Programs” option from the control panel window.
After this, select the “Uninstall a program” option.
Now, the next window will appear on the screen that displays all the programs installed on the device.
From this list, select the “Microsoft Office” option and tap the “Uninstall” option.
Once the uninstalling process gets completed, restart the device.
Now, try to install the Office 365 Setup to the device.
Method 3: Temporarily Disable the Antivirus Software:
Launch the user interface of the antivirus software installed on the device.
Now, tap the “gear” icon (i.e. Settings icon).
And then, from the drop down menu, choose the “Real Time Scanning” option.
After this, toggle the button displayed in front of the firewall option (if it has been enabled).
Now, try to install the Office 365 Setup to the device.
After performing the aforementioned resolving methods of the “Something went wrong” installation error, try to install the Office 365 Setup to the device.
