Cause of Establishment: Shri Gang Dev received divine instructions in his dream to install this idol. This idol is said to have received worship from the pandavas in the distant old days. This self-sale idol was recovered from water when Shri Gang Dev got message through a dream and installed at gadh. The idol was recovered from water for its installation and ceremonial enthronement. At this place, as many as 125 battels were waged over the centuries to protect this idol and many a time it was submerged in water for safety. The river Gomati flows by this temple. The idol of Shri Charbhuja Ji is 85 centimeters high. Brief of the Diety: Shri Charbhuja Ji or the four armed Lord who is none but Lord Vishnu himself. In every darshan (vewing time) a sword and shield are put up as symbols of Rajaput chivalry. Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events): Adhering to the Vaishnava traditions, various festivals on the already prescribed days of various months are held. On the 11th day of the brights half of Bhadrapada a big fair is held here.Similarily on Holi also the festivals of colours is celebrated. Other festivals are Navaratras, Janamashtami and Ramanavami.
