Organic herbal tea offers a number of health benefits. People regularly consume caffeine drinks in order to refresh their mind. Caffeine is harmful for health and so a much better alternative is herbal tea. They come in a range of tastes and are very efficient in stress relieving and mood elevation. The anti-oxidants present in them help in the removal of toxins and improve the functioning of kidneys and liver. Although herbal tea is quite safer to consume but it is better to look at their side effects before starting their use, for example pregnant ladies should refrain from peppermint tea as it increases the risk of miscarriage.
A general method for the preparation of organic herbal is described below.
1. Boil water according to the number of cups you want to make.
2. Crush the leaves or petals of the herb you are using in a dry teapot.
3. Pour the boiling water in the teapot and allow it to steep for at least 10 minutes with the lid closed.
4. Pour the tea in cups through a strainer and drink up to 3 times for maximum benefits.
Some of the common herbs used in tea are ginger, peppermint, chamomile, lemon balm, passion flower and rosemary. All of them vary in taste and benefits. One of the important things to keep in mind while preparing them is to keep the lid of teapot closed while steeping otherwise the medicinal oils will get evaporated along with water.
