2. This is done to correct the machine made errors as it cannot accurately transcribe human speech
Difference between speech recognition technology and voice recognition technology
Many people confuse the term speech recognition with voice recognition or consider the terms as synonyms. Speech recognition is entirely different from voice recognition. Speech recognition technology recognizes words or WHAT is being said while voice recognition technology recognizes a person’s voice or WHO is talking (and not WHAT is being said). For example, you can take a mobile phone which is locked and unlocked using voice. When the owner of the phone speaks into it, the device identifies his/her voice (voice print) by using voice biometric identity verification technology. It will not unlock to a different person’s voice. Speech recognition technology, on the other hand responds to any voice as it is programmed only to recognize a person’s words and not his/her voice.
