1300 Houses will Allotted - Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana First Phase

As the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is coming to end by March 2017. The government has announced to provide 1300 houses to the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana Kerala. Under Housing for All (HFA) by 2022, the local authorities will go to submit a detailed report of the project to central government very soon.

In PMAY Kerala First Phase, a total of 16000 houses has been submitted across 100 wards for the affordable housing scheme. Earlier, in 2015 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Pradhanmantri Aavas Yojna – Housing for All by 2022 to provide affordable houses to poor people of the country who do not house.

The local bodies of Kerala have completed the survey of wards under PM Awas Yojana Kerala. All the required/mandatory documents of the beneficiaries have been collected for the first phase of the Housing for All schemes. For action state government of Kerala will submit the Project Detailed Report by the end of January 2017. After the submission of DPR to central government, the local bodies start planning to provide houses to the beneficiaries under the housing for all schemes.

Land for the construction of houses has also been verified. The local bodies has collected a total of 16000 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala out of all form collected many of the PMAY forms have been rejected due to improper documentation. For applying Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana the applicants required to submit Aadhar Card and bank details. Only the people belong to Lower Income Group (LIG) and EWS (Economical Weaker Section) of the society can apply to get benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Beneficiaries get funds under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala in total four installments including 10 per cent, 40 per cent, 40 per cent and 10 per cent during the construction of houses over period of one year.

Under PM Awas Yojana Kerala beneficiaries will get a total of Rs. 2.5 lakh in which Rs. 50,000 contribution of the beneficiaries also included. The Second Phase of Pradhan Awas Yojana is going to start soon from April 2017 to March 2019.
