1888PressRelease - The future of mobility includes wonderful advancements with greater energy diversity.

"Moving from one part of the globe to another is about to get much faster and easier." This was Michael Tornabe's opening statement in a discussion regarding the future of mobility.

According to him, there are several converging forces that are working on transforming the future of mobility and transportation. Several advancements have already been made while others are still in the concept stage. There are several different things being taken into consideration. The use of lightweight materials is being considered. They need to be strong materials though lightweight and should not compromise the safety of passengers. "This is important because we are looking to take transport above ground", stated Michael Tornabe.

Different ways of powering transport systems are also being taken into consideration. Fuel cell electric cars are being created since they have lower emissions and more energy efficient. Innovators are looking at greater energy diversity as well as different car designs. Hydrogen and solar are some of the options available.

Connected vehicles are another wonderful advancement. Cars that can communicate with the infrastructure they are using and to other vehicles as well. This will go a long way in advancing driverless cars. New generation automobiles are moving towards freeing up the driver so that he or she can spend time doing other things instead of driving from one point to the other. Autonomous vehicles are here with us, the only question is how soon they will be adopted into society and become more main stream.

Tornabe says that, "The question is not whether or not the future of mobility will change; the question is the pace at which it will change. Will it be a gradual move towards the use of these new innovation transportation technologies or a more radical shift?"

Governments around the world are trying to ensure that the change is more gradual than radical for fear that a radical change will be disruptive to current transport systems. The change is inevitable. It is important that plans be made to simply incorporate the new ideas and technology, which has already proven to be safer, faster and greener.
